George H. NicholasGeorge Nicholas is a Supervising Geologist with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) in Trenton, NJ. George has over 17 years experience in overseeing ground water investigations and remedial actions at Superfund sites, RCRA facilities, and privately owned industrial sites throughout the state of New Jersey. He worked for a short time with Handex of NJ doing underground storage tank related work before accepting a position with the NJDEP. George became involved with the ITRC in 1997 as a proctor for the ITRC Natural Attenuation Training Seminars. In 1999, he was asked to lead the ITRC Diffusion Sampler team and served in that capacity until 2005. In 2003, George accepted an appointment to serve on the ITRC Board of Advisors as the Team Leader Liaison. He currently helps coordinate the work of the ITRC Teams and represents their interest at the Board level. George earned his bachelor's degree in geology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona, NJ in 1988.
