Clay Messer is an environmental engineer at the Alabama Department of Environmental Management in Montgomery, Alabama. Clay has worked in the Engineering Services Section of the Industrial Hazardous Waste Branch since graduating from Auburn University in 2011. He issues hazardous waste operating and post-closure permits as well as manages corrective action and remediation activities at sites throughout Alabama. Clay has also helped revise the Alabama Risk Based Corrective Action (ARBCA) guidance manual. He has been a member of the ITRC since 2012. Clay earned a bachelor’s degree in biosystems engineering in 2009 and a master of science degree in civil engineering in 2011 both from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.
