Erica Becvar is a Senior Research Scientist in the Restoration Branch of the Technical Division at the Air Force Center for Engineering and Environment (AFCEE) in Texas. Erica has worked at AFCEE since 2001 and leads the AFCEE Enhanced In Situ Bioremediation and Technology Transfer initiatives. She also supports the AFCEE Remedial Process Optimization (RPO), Performance-Based Management (PBM), and Performance-based Contracting (PBC) initiatives. Erica is the US Air Force lead and DoD co-lead for perchlorate treatment technologies and has been involved in perchlorate-related issues since 1999. Erica represents the US Air Force in the SERDP and ESTCP Environmental Restoration pillar, as well on the ITRC Board of Advisors. She is a member of the ITRC Perchlorate, BioDNAPL, and Enhanced Attenuation: Chlorinated Organics Teams. Erica earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology in 1990 as well as a master’s in soil science in 1992 from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
