Michael (Mike) Kwiecinski is an environmental protection specialist since 2004 with the Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety, located in Denver, Colorado. In an environmental protection specialist capacity, he oversees response for releases from above and underground storage tank systems, AST/UST inspections and assists with reimbursement from the Colorado Petroleum Storage Tank Fund. Since 1991, he has worked in industry, consulting and as a regulator doing geological and environmental assessment and remediation. He has contributed to ITRC's Petroleum Vapor Intrusion, Geostatistics for Remediation Optimization and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon Risk Guidances, and has authored regulations and guidance. He earned a bachelor's degree in geology, with an emphasis on hydrogeology, from the University of Michigan in Arbor, Michigan in 1993, and is a licensed Professional Geoscientist with the State of Texas
