Siona BrileySiona Briley is an Environmental Scientist and Specialist at the New Mexico Environment Department Bureau of Hazardous Waste in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Siona has worked with the Hazardous Waste Permitting Group since 2012. She is a permit writer, and issues hazardous waste facility permits for RCRA hazardous waste facilities in the State of New Mexico. She also reviews remedy selection reports, periodic monitoring reports, and post-closure care projects. Prior to her work with the State of New Mexico, she has worked as a Researcher at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology which focused on multiphase remediation of hypersaline-produced water from 2007-2010, and in Soil Analysis Laboratory performing TCLP and Flame AA from 2005-2007. Siona has been active in the ITRC since 2016 as a writer and reviewer for the Stormwater Best Management Practices team and is currently on the 1,4 Dioxane team. Siona earned a bachelor's in science degree in environmental science with an emphasis in biology from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and a certificate in geographical information systems (GIS) in 2016 from the Central New Mexico Community College.
