Mary YelkenMary A. Yelken provides Program Advisor services to the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) by coordinating the ITRC Internet-based Training Program, supporting the ITRC State Engagement Program as well as conducting numerous additional outreach and management activities for the ITRC. Before joining the ITRC team directly, Mary worked for the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) as an Environmental Programs Advisor in support of the ITRC. Mary gained her state regulatory experience as a Superfund Program Specialist (Hydrologist) in the Hazardous Waste and Air Management Division of the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ). While working for NDEQ, Mary was the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) State Engagement Coordinator and was on the ITRC Leadership Team. In 1990 Mary received a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry Education from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. She also earned a Master of Science in 1996 in Water Resources Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and continued her education at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, focusing on an interdisciplinary approach to water resource and environmental management.
