Mike BeringerMike Beringer is a toxicologist in U.S. EPA Region 7 where he provides human health risk assessment support for all programs in the Regional Office. Mike began his career with EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs in 1989, where he managed and assessed the risk from high-priority pesticides. He is a member of the Technical Review Workgroup (TRW) for Metals and Asbestos, where he serves as co-chair of the Lead Committee and Bioavailability Committee. The TRW is comprised of technical EPA staff whose goal is to support and promote consistent application of the best science in the field of risk assessment for metals and asbestos at contaminated sites nationwide. Mike received a Master of Science in Toxicology from the University of Kansas Medical Center, a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University, and a B.S. from Creighton University. He is also a member of the Society of Toxicology and the Society for Risk Analysis.
