Dr. Jeffrey Marqusee is currently the Executive Director of the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Director of the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP). SERDP is a tri-agency (DoD, DOE, and EPA) environmental research and development program managed by the Department of Defense. SERDP supports research and development to solve environmental issues of relevance to DoD. ESTCP is a DoD wide program designed to demonstrate innovative environmental technologies at DoD facilities. ESTCP provides for rigorous validation of the cost and performance of new environmental technologies in cooperation with the regulatory and end-user communities. Prior to his current position, Dr. Marqusee served as a program manager for environmental technology in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Environmental Security. He was the principal advisor to the Deputy Under Secretary on environmental technology issues. Before joining DoD, he worked at the Institute for Defense Analyses, where he advised both DoD and NASA in the areas of remote sensing, environmental matters, and military surveillance. Dr. Marqusee has worked at Stanford University, the University of California, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He has a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Physical Chemistry.
