Ed works for National Grid, an electric
and gas utility, as the Principal Environmental Engineer in the
Environmental Affairs Department in Syracuse, NY. His principal area of
work is in the remediation of manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites,
particularly with understanding polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)
and cyanide chemistry and toxicology in sediments and soils. Recent
research efforts have focused on understanding the true bioavailability
of PAH's in sediments, demonstrating that PAH bioavailabilty is often
greatly reduced by the presence of carbon in sediments. Ed's degrees are
from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry in soil
biochemistry.
