Dr. Fatemeh Shirazi has been the CEO of Microvi Biotech Inc. since 2008. She is the inventor of Microvi's platform technology, called MicroNiche Engineering™ (MNE), where the microenvironments of biological systems are synthetically designed to enhance microbial physiology and enzymatic performance. In 2001, she was the recipient of the Jack Edward McKee Award for her professional achievements in groundwater protection, restoration, or sustainable use. Dr. Shirazi was previously with Black & Veatch and served as Vice-President of Technology for a boutique water engineering firm. She is an inventor of 12 patents granted or pending.
