James M. Sickles is a Remedial Project Manager in the Superfund Division of the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Region 9 located in San Francisco, California. In this role, he oversees Superfund projects such as the operations and management oversight of the Iron Mountain Mine Site and is leading the investigation and remediation of the Klau/Buena Vista Mines Site. As a geologist he has worked in mineral and petroleum exploration and started in environmental geology in 1990 in consulting and working for the EPA since 2002. Past environmental work has involved investigation and cleanup, ranging from closing military bases to abandoned mine sites. James has B.A. degree in Geology from Sonoma State University (1970) and M.Sc. from the University of California, Davis (1974) and is a Certified Geologist in the State of California since 1992.
