Peter J. VikeslandPeter Vikesland is an assistant professor in the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He holds degrees from Grinnell College (B.A., Chemistry 1993) and the University of Iowa (M.S. Environmental Engineering 1995, Ph.D. Environmental Engineering 1998). The Vikesland research group primarily focuses on the study of the interfacial environmental chemistry of natural and engineered systems. Ongoing projects examine the fate of nanomaterials in the environment, the development of nanotechnology enabled sensors for detection of environmental contaminants, and the characterization of the reactivity of emerging contaminants in drinking water.
