Dan W. Bench is the PCB coordinator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 8. Region 8 is one of ten regions, that includes the states of CO, ND, SD, WY, UT, and MT. Mr. Bench obtained a degree of Engineer of Mines from the Colorado School of Mines and a degree in Biology from the University of Colorado. Upon graduation from CSM he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in the Corps of Engineers followed by employment in mines owned by American Smelting & Refining, New Jersey Zinc, and Climax Molybdenum. He has been employed at EPA in various capacities including PCB inspector for coal and metal and nonmetal mines, enforcement case development officer, and PCB incinerator permitting.
