Living on East Pleasant Street with his wife, Lucy, Ronnie Bush is proud to serve the residents of the 3rd Ward in the City of Freeport. He originally represented the 3rd Ward on the council from 1989 to 2003 during the time period when there were 14 council members serving under the mayoral administrations of Richard Weis and Jim Gitz. Most recently, Ronnie was elected to fulfill terms of 3rd Ward Alderperson in 2007 and again in 2011 as part of the 8-member council. This was during the administration of Mayor George Gaulrapp.
Ronnie is a life-long resident of the City of Freeport and graduated as a mighty "Pretzel" in 1971. Ronnie worked for 34 years at Titan Tire-Kelly Springfieldbush,htm Tire Company until his retirement in 2007. He is a graduate of the inaugural class Highland Community College Leadership Institute. Ronnie has a son and a daughter and is the proud grandparent of three grandchildren. There are many community organizations that Ronnie supports especially the Freeport/Stephenson County Boys and Girls Club and Diabetes Awareness efforts. He has worked diligently to help develop the youth in our community for many years. He coaches basketball at the Boys and Girls Club and football at the 8th grade level at Freeport Junior High School. You may also have seen Ronnie's smiling face on ads for FHN, where he works full-time at the Burchard Hills facility. Ronnie is working to improve the communication of the 3rd Ward, encouraging participation in the Neighborhood Watch Program, working to develop schedules for litter pick-ups by area residents, and looking for ways to unite the City of Freeport.
