Stephanie Cwik is a Sustainable Communities Specialist in the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 5 office in Chicago. One of her primary focus areas is supporting Brownfields grantees and other communities wishing to redevelop urban areas in a sustainable manner. She works closely with the National HUD DOT EPA Partnership for Sustainable Communities Projects within the Region, and Brownfields Grants in Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin within EPA Region 5's Community and Land Revitalization Branch. Stephanie led a regional effort to determine a safe process for communities implementing urban agriculture as a land reuse strategy on Brownfield sites, now available at www.epa.gov/brownfields/urbanag. Stephanie graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master's Degree in Hydrogeology, and is a registered Professional Geologist.
