Dr. Steven C. Gebhard, P.E. is a Senior Chemist who has been with TDA Research for 17 years. Steve received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an M.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He holds a Professional Engineering license (chemical) in Colorado. Steve has over 30 years of R&D experience in various aspects of chemistry and chemical engineering, with expertise in heterogeneous catalysis, from fundamental surface science studies to pilot plant testing, heat and mass transfer technologies for personal protective equipment, including microclimate personal cooling and CBRN respiratory protection, and capacitive deionization for treating drinking water and desalinating brackish water. Steve is an author on more than two dozen peer-reviewed journal articles in catalysis and surface science, numerous presentations and conference proceedings, and has two patents pending. Steve is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the North American Catalysis Society (NACS) and the Society of Rheology (SoR).
