Terry Guerin is the President of Guerin and Guerin, Inc. and currently represents the solid waste interests of the Balkema family in Indiana and Michigan, including the South Side Landfill and the Crossroads Greenhouse. Terry also represents the Michigan Waste Industries Association on legislative issues before the Michigan Senate and House Committees, as well as on specific environmental issues before the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). He presently serves on MDEQ's Planning and Solid Waste Advisory Committees and is the Chairperson of the Indiana Chapter of the National Solid Waste Management Association.
Terry earned a B.A. degree in Zoology from Hanover College, an M.A. degree in Biology and Microbiology from Drake University, and completed four years of post graduate studies in molecular genetics and bacteriology at Iowa State University. He was a Research Associate at Northern Michigan University and taught at the university level for eleven years, focusing on biology, molecular genetics and bacteriology. He and his wife, Sandy, have three children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
