Jim Harford is a Certified Hazardous Material Manager and has been with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality for 10 years. He is currently in the Waste Management Division as the RCRA Compliance Assistance Coordinator. Jim was previously the Hazardous Waste Manager for the Nebraska Army National Guard. He has a BS degree in Chemistry and is retired from the US Air Force where he had many positions over a 26-year career. Among them were B-52 aircraft commander and instructor pilot, HQ Air Force personnel officer, Maintenance Squadron Commander, Chief Wing Bomber & Tanker Standardization/Evaluation Division, Chief HQ SAC Bomber Aircrew Training Programs, Wing Deputy Commander of Operations, Wing Vice Commander, Chief HQ SAC Personnel Plans and Programs, and Faculty Instructor at the US Army War College. Jim is trained in several environmental and response areas to include Pesticide management, the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), HAZWOPER, Aircraft accident investigation, HazMat Transportation, Pollution Prevention Programs, and Environmental Management Systems (EMSs).
