Daniel Heffernan is the Brownfields Coordinator for Region 8 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency which includes Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and 27 tribal nations. Mr. Heffernan coordinates a team of environmental professionals who specialize in working with local communities to overcome reuse and redevelopment challenges posed by potentially contaminated “brownfields” properties. He has extensive experience assisting small, rural and tribal communities throughout Region 8 in the assessment, cleanup and reuse of brownfields properties. Mr. Heffernan did his undergraduate work at St. John’s University (MN) and his graduate work in Environmental Policy and Administration at Colorado State University.
