Joshua Huneycutt is a core member of the U.S. Department of Energy's SunShot Initiative, where he works to cut red tape and costs associated with solar adoption. SunShot is mandated to make solar electricity cost-competitive with conventional energy sources, without subsidies, by 2020. Joshua leads SunShot's residential and small-scale commercial solar PV efforts, including the Rooftop Solar Challenge and the Solar Outreach Partnership.
Joshua joined the federal government as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2010. He initially served as an analyst for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) on climate and weather policy. Before that, he was a consultant to the World Bank, the City of New York and the New York Power Authority on sustainability and renewable energy issues.
Joshua holds a Master's degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
