Dr. Billy E. Johnson received his BS in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University (1987), his MS in Civil Engineering from Memphis State University (1993), and his PhD in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University (1997). He works for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) located in Vicksburg, Mississippi and has 25+ years experience in Water Resources. He is located in the Environmental Laboratory's Water Quality and Contaminant Modeling Branch. Within his duties at ERDC, Dr. Johnson is the leader of the Watershed WQ Modeling Group. He and his group are responsible for developing Nutrient and Contaminant Modules for linkage and integration within a number of USACE Hydraulic and Hydrologic modeling systems. His group is responsible for the development of the Training Range Environmental Evaluation and Characterization System (TREECS) currently being tested and applied for the Operational Range Assessment Program (ORAP) Phase II. In addition to his duties at ERDC, Dr. Johnson is an adjunct faculty member of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Mississippi State University where he teaches Engineering Hydrology and Environmental Hydrology.
