Stephen (Steve) Rex Mason is an On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) for the EPA, Region 6, Dallas, and is a member of the EPA Region 6 Emergency Readiness Team.

He received his B.S. in Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning from the University of North Texas in Denton in 1990.

He joined the EPA office in 1987, and is the Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention Coordinator. His work experience includes enforcement responsibility of the community right-to-know provisions under EPCRA and release reporting provisions of CERCLA.

He is the State LEPC Coordinator for Region 6 and the Coordinator for the Region 6 Regional Response Team (RRT).

Additionally, his work as an OSC involves emergency response and removal activities to assist state and local officials during emergency situations.
