Kirsten Mease is the Program Analyst [C] for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). The NIEHS's SBIR/STTR programs focus on developing and commercializing innovative technologies that address the Agency's vision for innovative research that improves public health by preventing disease and disability. NIEHS topic areas include exposure assessment tools such as personal sensors and bio-monitoring devices, novel toxicological models and assays to support the National Toxicology Program, detection and remediation technologies for use on Superfund sites, e-learning technologies for the Worker Training Program, and educational materials to support environmental health science. Kirsten has more than ten years' experience in the Pharmaceutical industry in the areas of Cell Biology, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, and Toxicology. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Pennsylvania State University.
