Stephen (Steve) Mellin is the Support Officer, 6th Space Warning Squadron, Cape Cod Air Force Station, Massachusetts. As Support Officer, Mr Mellin supervises and directs Civil Engineering programs on the installation including project programming, design, and construction oversight. He oversees the Emergency Management (formally Full Spectrum Threat Response) program ensuring the squadron is ready to react to natural and manmade disasters. Mr Mellin is also responsible for security operations on the installation. He manages over 37 active duty and reserve Security Forces members assigned to Cape Cod Air Force Station providing around the clock protection of the $250M Protection Level-1 asset. Mr Mellin began his service with the Air Force as an active duty civil engineering officer in 1983. He served for over 22 years retiring from active duty 2005. Following his retirement, Mr Mellin was the Civil Engineering Manager for Arctec Services and then BAE Systems as part of the Solid State Phased-Array Radar System support contract. Mr Mellin began his civil service career as Cape Cod AFS’s Support Officer in November 2007.
