Herb Nelson has been the Program Manager for Munitions Response at SERDP and ESTCP since 2008. Prior to that he was a Research Chemist at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. He has worked on problems associated with the detection and classification of unexploded ordnance for 20 years; focusing most recently on classification using advanced electromagnetic induction sensors. He holds a Ph. D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
