Nicola is a Project Director at Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments (CL:AIRE) and has over 20 years experience within the environmental industry. She is responsible for the overall management of a small team of project managers who manage a number of technology demonstration, research projects and industry initiatives. She is responsible for developing close contacts with the contaminated land and brownfield community to encourage their participation and support in projects with CL:AIRE. She is the secretariat for SuRF-UK (Sustainable Remediation Forum - UK) which is an industry led forum looking at assessing sustainability while undertaking remediation of land and groundwater (www.claire.co.uk/surfuk) and is also the secretariat of the Asbestos in Soil, Made Ground and Construction Waste Joint Industry Working Group established to develop an industry code of practice - practitioners guide (www.claire.co.uk/asbestos). Up until recently she sat on the editorial board of Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology and in July 2012 she has joined the BRE Global Standing Panel as a contaminated land expert.
