As Brownfields Coordinator for EPA's southeastern region, Mike Norman works closely with state and local governments and other partners to assess, clean up, and redevelop contaminated properties. His past experience serves him well in this capacity. He began his career at EPA in 1984 as an On-Scene Coordinator (OSC), directing response actions at many of the Region's most significant and controversial hazardous waste sites and oil spills. He has managed a variety of Superfund assessment and cleanup programs, including Emergency Response and Oil Pollution Prevention, Removal Operations, Remedial Management, and Site Evaluation. In 1994, he was named National OSC Supervisor of the Year by EPA. He has also taken management detail assignments in the Emergency Response program in EPA Headquarters and the Underground Storage Tank program in the Region. Mike is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree.
