Henry SchuverMr. Henry Schuver, (MS, Geology) has spent the last fifteen years reducing toxic exposures by promoting the proper management and clean up of hazardous wastes at privately-owned industrial properties. In the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) headquarters office since 1997 he has promoted national consistency and improved comprehensiveness in the evaluation of pathways for on-going human exposures to hazardous wastes at, or from, contaminated properties (e.g., 2/5/99 Environmental Indicator (EI) guidance). As part of this effort he has raised national awareness of on-going human exposures to volatile chemicals from subsurface contamination vapors intruding into indoor air (including two multi-day National Meeting sessions with international experts on vapor intrusion, and lead the development of the draft RCRA EI Supplemental Guidance for Evaluating the Vapor Intrusion Into Indoor Air Pathway, December 2001). Prior to coming to the USEPA HQ office he worked for 3 years with the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), 6 years as a Project Manager for a private consulting firm assisting responsible parties meet closure and cleanup requirements, and 2 years with the USEPA in Region 2 (NY, NY office). He is currently a pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
