JoAnn Seghini has been a resident of Midvale for 71 years and proud to call Midvale home. She started her service to the City as a Planning Commission member. She was the first woman in Midvale to be elected to public office as a City Council member, and in 1998 elected to her first term as Mayor. She is currently on her fourth term.
She has a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D in Education. She is a former educator in the Jordan School District retiring after 36 years; twelve of those years were teaching elementary grades.
She has two sons, Steve and Ed, whom she raised as a single parent, and one grandchild. She has a strong commitment to empowering youth and strengthening families. She was instrumental in getting the Community Building Community program together in Midvale. JoAnn is a member of numerous Committees and Boards throughout the State, which gives Midvale a voice and a vote.
She enjoys her dogs and cats, reading, and being an active participant for community affairs.
