Tom Sheahan Prof. Sheahan is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University, where he has been on the faculty since 1991. He is an expert in geotechnical laboratory and field testing, data interpretation and testing equipment development, and has adapted this expertise to remediation of contaminated, subaqueous sediments. Prof. Sheahan has published over 60 articles, including 30 journal publications and is the co-author of the forthcoming An Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering 2nd Edition. He has been nationally active in the Transportation Research Board, for which he was chair of the Soil and Rock Instrumentation committee from 2000 to 2006, and served as co-editor of ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal from 2002 to 2008. His awards include elevation to Fellow of ASCE, the Tau Beta Pi National McDonald Mentoring Award, and a Special Service Award from ASTM Committee D-18.
