John Sikes is a Quality Assurance Specialist working in the Military Munitions Division of the Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise (EM CX) and has been in that position for 18 years, since December 1994. For 15 years, Mr. Sikes was in DOD’s Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammunition Surveillance) (QASAS) career program conducting inspections of stockpiled munitions, conducting quality assurance functions of ammunition maintenance operations, ammunition shipment operations, and conducting inspections of ammunition storage facilities. He has been stationed at Savanna Army Depot, IL, Seneca Army Depot, NY, Twisteden, Germany and Miesau Army Depot, Germany. He currently coordinates MMRP training events, manages the development of MMRP guidance documents, is the technical lead for reviews of program and project documents, conducts Quality Audits of field operations, is the HQ USACE point of contact for the implementation of the USACE Divisions’ Quality Management Plan, he developed the EM CX Directorates’s ISO 9001 quality system. He was a member of the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council’s UXO Team. He is an alternate instructor for the EPA’s MEC HA training course and the ITRC’s web-based training, “Quality Considerations for Munitions Response Projects”, He is the EM CX lead for the development of the Army Environmental Center’s "MMRP 101" workshop and is an instructor under the USACE FUDS training program.
