Tom Effinger is the Director of Corporate Environmental Services for SCANA in Cayce, SC. The department is responsible for permitting, licensing, compliance and remediation projects for various business units within SCANA including South Carolina Electric & Gas Company which operates all of the electric generating facilities under SCANA. Tom has over thirty years in the electric utility industry engaged in environmental engineering and also nuclear plant design engineering. Tom has been directly responsible for the Calhoun Park Area site since the mid-1990s.Tom received a Chemistry degree from Duke University and subsequently a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of SC. He is a registered Professional Engineer in both North and South Carolina.
