A US Navy veteran, Dr. Weimer has over 30 years of experience as an Analytical Chemist. Prior to joining Agiltron, Dr. Weimer was a research chemist for ten years at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake identifying reaction mechanisms on nonequilibrium thin film materials reactors including plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition of diamond and laser ablation deposition of high temperature superconductor materials. Dr. Weimer then spent 5 years with Texas Instruments/Raytheon where he developed low cost polymer optics for infrared imaging systems, including several military systems and the Cadillac Night Vision system. Dr. Weimer spent the next 2 1/2 years as a senior research chemist and Group manager at Zyvex Corporation, where he developed ultrasensitive chemical detectors for real time monitoring of nanosynthesis. Dr. Weimer then founded US Detection Technologies where he was Chief Technology Officer and managed the development of ultrasensitive chemical detection systems. Dr. Weimer holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Wyoming, has published over 50 articles in scientific and technical journals, and is named as inventor on two patents and one pending. He has been an invited speaker at conferences for the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies (FACSS), SPIE, Materials Research Society, LabAutomation, and SmallTalk and has served as a publication reviewer for Thin Solid Films, Analytical Chemistry, Diamond Materials, Journal of Materials Research, Applied Optics, Applied Spectroscopy, Journal of Physical Chemistry B, and Review of Scientific Instruments.
