Site Redevelopment? There's an App for That - Superfund Redevelopment Mapper Training

EPA's new Superfund Redevelopment Mapper is an interactive tool that provides information related to reuse and redevelopment on and near Superfund sites. This webinar will review how the tool highlights key data stakeholders need to plan for future Superfund site use. Data layers in the tool include key environmental, population and infrastructure data for identifying and analyzing redevelopment opportunities and potential environmental justice concerns at or near Superfund sites. This webinar will include an interactive training on how to use the tool in a variety of scenarios.

Casey Luckett Snyder, EPA Region 6 (Luckett.casey@Epa.gov or 214-665-7393)

Casey Luckett Snyder has served as the Region 6 Superfund Redevelopment Coordinator (SRP) since 2009. Currently, Casey is on detail to EPA's national Superfund Redevelopment Program at EPA Headquarters. In addition to her SRP positions, she's also a Superfund Remedial Project Manager, managing and overseeing the cleanup of several Superfund sites in Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Casey began her career with EPA in 2000. She spent four and a half years with the Region 6 Water Enforcement Branch, where she coordinated the Region's Onshore Oil and Gas Stormwater enforcement programs. In 2005, she joined the Region 6 Brownfields Program where she served as Brownfields Project Officer until 2011. In 2011, Casey transitioned to the Superfund Remedial Project Manager role, where her current responsibilities include overseeing the cleanup of multiple Superfund sites across Region 6. For the past 12 years, Casey has served as the Regional Superfund Redevelopment Coordinator where she identifies innovative and beneficial opportunities to assist Superfund site stakeholders with tools and resources to facilitate and support Superfund site reuse and redevelopment. Casey is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She received dual degrees – a B.S. in Engineering and a B.S. in Geography.

Bianca Boggs, Skeo Solutions (bqboggs@skeo.com or (240) 673-1537)

As an Associate, Bianca primarily provides data analysis, research, and mapping support through utilizing GIS tools. Bianca's professional interests include working to create and revitalize sustainable communities by examining them through the lens of environmental justice, racial equity and climate change. She is interested in utilizing GIS tools as assets in data analysis to gain insight and find unique solutions to problems. While at Skeo, she has also worked on environmental justice projects, supported GIS mapping efforts and interactive tool creation, performed economic research and analysis, assisted on Five-Year Review Community Involvement work, and reviewed and analyzed policy documents. She has also participated in DEI action planning and conducted data analysis on DEI survey results through her prior position at the William & Mary.

Alison Frost, Skeo Solutions (afrost@skeo.com or (307) 202-9482)

Alison wears two hats at Skeo. She manages Skeo's Graphic Design Team and ArcGIS Online body of work and serves as a Technical Assistance Specialist and Project Manager for EPA's Technical Assistance Services for Communities program. Alison is recognized for her ability to convey complex information through visually stunning designs and interactive solutions. She builds strong project teams who deliver efficient results and provide robust support to clients. During her time at Skeo, Ms. Frost has specialized in providing technical assistance, outreach and engagement to tribal and rural communities across the country. Alison is always looking for ways to harness the latest technology and communication trends to solve environmental challenges.

Jean Balent, U.S. EPA Technology Innovation and Field Services Division (balent.jean@epa.gov or 202-566-0832)

Ms Balent is on the staff of the EPA's Technology Innovation and Field Services Division where she has worked to collect and disseminate hazardous waste remediation and characterization information since 2003. Ms Balent manages the Clean Up Information Network website and actively supports online communication and collaboration resources available to EPA. She formerly worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Engineering Division in the Buffalo District. Ms Balent was also a member of the SUNY-Buffalo Groundwater Research Group where she constructed and tested large scale models of groundwater flow. Ms Balent has also conducted research relating to the Great Lakes, environmental remediation, and brownfields re-development. She holds a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from SUNY-Buffalo and a Master's degree in Information Technology from AIU.
