Ellie Kanipe has worked for the US EPA for five years. She first began working on the Border 2012 Program during its development in 2002 while interning at EPA's International Office. For the last three years, Ellie has been a member of the U.S.-Mexico Border team in EPA's Office of Resource Conversation and Recovery where she continues to work on behalf of the Border 2012 Program. In her current role, she concentrates on preventing scrap tire piles in the US-Mexico Border region. Ellie has a degree in International Sustainable Development from Prescott College.
