Allan Lassiter is the manager of the Virginia Waste Tire Program
and has been affiliated with it since its inception in 1989. The
program has cleaned up over 1,000 tire dumps containing over 23 million
tires. Through the End User Reimbursement program, Virginia can trace
almost 100% of its tires from the generator and hauler to the processor
and end user.
Allan is the State Government Representative on the Tire
Industry Association (TIA) Tire and Rubber Recycling Advisory Committee
(TRRAC) and EPA's RCC Scrap Tire Workgroup since its inception in 2003.
Allan has worked for the State of Virginia for 35 years,
previously with the Virginia Division of Energy and the Virginia
Department of Transportation. He has a BS and MS in Civil Engineering
from Virginia Tech.
Allan and Joan, his wife of 37 years, live in Richmond.
