Glenn Maidment is a 35-year veteran of the rubber industry, having started his career in Kitchener Ontario, working for a major tire company. Following progressively senior positions in Sales and Marketing, Glenn joined The Rubber Association of Canada as Director of Operations in 1991.

In July 2001 Mr. Maidment was appointed President. In his current role he manages the overall affairs of the rubber industry association, acts as the industry's chief spokesman, and develops and implements their strategic direction in concert with the Association's Board of Directors.

He represents Canada, through the Standards Council of Canada, on the International Standards Organization Technical Committee 31 (TYRES and RIMS) and is International Chair of TC31/SC6, Off-The-Road Tyres. In addition, he works with both Federal and Provincial governments on all matters facing the tire industry in Canada. He also currently sits on three provincial tire stewardship boards in B.C., Manitoba and Ontario. These industry stewardship boards are not-for-profit entities created to develop and manage the scrap tire diversion program in the respective provinces.

Mr. Maidment graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Economics and in 1978 and in 1994 earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives. He and his wife Pat continue to reside in Waterloo, Ontario.

The Rubber Association of Canada is the national trade association which represents the interests of rubber and tire manufacturers in Canada.
