Journal of Environmental Management 218:309-321(2018)

Electrokinetic soil flushing can be combined with bioremediation as an innovative hybrid solution for treating hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. The addition of surfactants and other flushing/solubilizing agents can increase hydrocarbon remediation efficiency significantly. This paper provides information about fundamental interactions between electrokinetic treatment, flushing agents, and bioremediation.
