John Fletcher

John Fletcher is a plant physiologist with degrees from Ohio State, Arizona State, and Purdue University. He is a member of the faculty of Botany and Microbiology at the University of Oklahoma where he teaches Plant Physiology and conducts research focused on understanding the interaction between terrestrial plants and xenobiotic chemicals. He and his students have made contributions to our current understanding of: phytotoxicology or organic chemicals, ecorisk assessment analysis, and phytoremediation of organic contaminants. Dr. Fletcher is a former editor for the Journal of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, recipient of a Level I EPA research award, member of American Chemical Council panel to foster ecorisk assessment research, and recipient of 4 teaching awards.
