Mike Reynolds

Charles Michael (Mike) Reynolds has a B.S. in Soils and an M.S. in Soil Fertility/Soil Chemistry from the University of Maryland, a Ph.D. in Soil Microbiology from the University of Arkansas, and conducted Post-Doctoral research in soil enzymatic processes at North Carolina State University. He has been a Research Scientist at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Engineer Research and Development Center - Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, in Hanover NH for the past 14 years, and initiated and leads the soil microbiology program there. His past experience includes basic and applied research in cold-region soil microbial processes, including bioremediation and phytoremediation. In addition to laboratory efforts, Dr. Reynolds has conducted field demonstration projects in Alaska and Korea. Currently, Dr. Reynolds research includes developing strategies to predict, alter, and monitor the persistence and fate of selected microbial populations in soils, with an emphasis on surface and vadose-zone soils.
