Peter Kulakow

Peter Kulakow is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy at Kansas State University. He has B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Genetics from the University of California at Davis. His research has focused on ecological restoration, plant breeding, prairie ecology, and development of new crops and new uses for plants. He has been working on development of practical field applications of phytoremediation since 1995 with a focus on environmental management of petroleum-contaminated soils. Peter has consulted on development of technical guidance for phytotechnologies and numerous phytotechnology proposals. Since 1998 Peter has facilitated the EPA sponsored Remediation Technologies Development Forum cooperative field test program for phytoremediation of petroleum-contaminated soils with 13 locations in the USA and Canada.
