Eric Aitchison

Eric Aitchison is the vice-president of Ecolotree®, Inc., and serves as an environmental engineer and project manager. Eric has experience with over 25 phytoremediation projects in design, permitting, modeling, site preparation, installation, maintenance, and reporting. Project experience includes landfill caps, lagoon caps, organic chemical spill sites, agrochemical spill sites, and wastewater treatment projects. Eric is the Ecolotree project manager for the Alternative Cover Assessment Program (ACAP) sites in Albany, Georgia and Marion, Iowa. These two ACAP sites currently evaluate prescriptive cover verses poplar tree cover (Ecap™) performance for landfill capping.

Eric obtained a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University and a M.S. degree in environmental engineering from The University of Iowa. He performed his graduate research on phytoremediation of the solvent 1,4-dioxane by hybrid poplar trees. Eric is a registered professional engineer in the state of Iowa. He currently supports the Interstate Regulatory Council (ITRC) Alternative Landfill Technologies Team with guidance document preparation.
