Eugenia Olguín

Eugenia J. Olguín has a bachelor’s degree in Microbial Chemistry from the National School of Biological Sciences (I.P.N.) and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, U.K. She has been the Head of the Environmental Biotechnology Department at the Institute of Ecology (CONACYT Centre) for the past 13 years. Past experience has included: Head of Biotechnology Division at CIATEJ (CONACYT Centre) from 1987-1988, Founder and Director General of the Mexican Institute of Appropriate Technologies, IMETA, S.C. from 1980-1986. She has been awarded with the National Award on Environment and Sustainable Development (1999), awarded by the Ministry of Environment (SEMARNAT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Women’s Alliance. She has also been awarded as Member of the National Research System since 1989.
