Martin Broadley

Martin R. Broadley has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Ecology from the University of Sheffield, UK, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. He has been employed as a Plant Scientist at Horticulture Research International, Wellesbourne, UK, (a UK Government Research Institute) for the past six years. He is a Research Leader in the area of plant mineral nutrition. He is currently managing projects that aim (i) to characterise the natural variation in contaminant and mineral nutrient accumulation by plants, and (ii) to elucidate the mechanisms of contaminant and mineral nutrient uptake and accumulation by plants. These projects include several field-scale trials including a trial within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (Ukraine), which will start in 2003.
