Anja Sinke is technology coordinator soil and groundwater remediation for BP in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA). In this function she advises on the remedial strategy at the BP sites and coordinates the technology development for BP in EMA. She is currently based in Sunbury, UK. Prior to joining BP she worked in the Netherlands at the research institute TNO where, as principal scientist, she coordinated the land management and remediation group.

Anja Sinke received her PhD at the University of Wageningen, the Netherlands, in environmental microbiology and worked afterwards for 4 years in Switzerland at the Swiss federal institute of aquatic science and technology, EAWAG. She has over 12 years experience in contaminated land issues and specialised in monitored natural attenuation and the degradation of chlorinated solvents. Since January 2005 she is the chairperson of the Nicole industry subgroup.
