Arthur de Groof

Arthur de GroofArthur de Groof is a soil remediation consultant with Grontmij in the Netherlands. He holds a Masters Degree in Physical Geography, for which he specialized in soil chemistry. Arthur has over fifteen years experience in site investigation and soil remediation. In the late nineties he has made substantial contributions to redesigning the Dutch soil remediation policy. He combines his professional experience with a keen interest in making things work well, by focusing on quality assurance and consultancy within the sector. He is program secretary with the Dutch Foundation Infrastructure Quality assurance in Soil management (SIKB). In that position Arthur coordinates with relevant parties, public as well as private, in developing, implementing and maintaining instruments for quality assurance in soil management.

He is a member of the Dutch Association for Environmental professionals (VVM), and active in the association's working group on Ethics. He serves as a member of the Programming Committee of the annual two-day Dutch national soil remediation conference (Bodembreed). In private life he is president of the Alumni Council of a student exchange program through which he attended a US college in 1980-81.
