Kelly Smalling is a chemist with the USGS in Sacramento studying the occurrence, fate and effects of pesticides in water, sediment and biota. For the past 3 years she has been working throughout California from the San Francisco Bay to the Salton Sea measuring pesticides using traditional methods as well as incorporating the use of passive samplers into several monitoring projects.
