Presentation Overview:

This course is designed for Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Response Support Corps (RSC) members or those interested in the RSC. The Finance Section Chief (FSC)is one of the Key Leadership Positions in the Incident Command System (ICS). The Cost Unit Leader is an integral part of the Finance Section and reports directly to the FSC. The Cost Unit Leader is responsible for Cost Projections, Tracking and Reporting costs by Mission Assignment (MA), or Pollution Removal Funding Authorization (PRFA), etc.. Responsibilities include estimating when funds will be exhausted or expired, ensuring contractor funding does not become exhausted before tasks are completed and developing burn rate projections. The Cost Unit Leader should be well versed with EPAs financial systems and financial reporting mechanisms. A working knowledge of excel, FDW, and RMCS is also desirable.
