This webcast will introduce the audience to EPA's Report on the Environment (ROE) project and the Electronic Report on the Environment (eROE) web site (www.epa.gov/roe) as a valuable resource in understanding what we know - and don't know - about trends in air, water, land, human health and ecologic condition in the United States.
The eROE is composed of two reports - the 2008 Report on the Environment, a technical document intended for environmental professionals, and the 2008 Report on the Environment: Highlights of National Trends (referred to as the ROE Highlights Document or ROEHD), which summarizes the key findings of the ROE for the interested public. The eROE provides access to all the information contained in both reports, including the underlying methodology, references, and sources of additional information, in one location and in a searchable format.
The webcast will also provide a more in-depth overview of the Air and Human Health chapters of the ROE as examples of the eROE content. Speakers include key individuals leading the ROE project and a representative from an EPA Regional Office who will describe how the eROE is being used to help communicate trends and influence planning and decision making. Ample time will be provided for Q&As.
