Lisa Olsen, U.S. Geological Survey (ldolsen@usgs.gov)
Lisa Olsen is a Water-Quality Specialist working for the USGS Water Mission Area in Reston, Virginia. She has a BS in chemistry and an MS in environmental science from the University of Memphis. From 1993 through 2005, Lisa worked on studies of fate and transport of nutrients, pesticides, VOCs, and other contaminants in Tennessee and Maryland. In 2006, she took a technical advisory position in the California Water Science Center and later transitioned to the Southeast Region of the United States. During 2010 to 2013, she served on the USGS NAWQA National Target Analyte Strategy workgroup to prioritize constituents for monitoring in water and sediment. In 2018, she moved into the Laboratory & Analytical Services Division. Lisa credits her coauthors, James Gray and Jerry Casile, also in the Laboratory & Analytical Services Division, for some of the content in this presentation.
Jovan Popovic, Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) (jovan.popovic@navy.mil or 805-982-6081)
Jovan Popovic is an Environmental Engineer at the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC), and his background is primarily aligned with the development of physicochemical treatment options for PFAS impacted groundwater and soil. Another major focus area of Dr. Popovic's research is applied anaerobic microbiology, with specific emphases placed on the transformation of anthropogenic organic contaminants, bioelectrochemistry, heavy metal and nutrient removal from agricultural and mining waste streams, and commodity chemical production. Prior to joining NAVFAC, Dr. Popovic was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the BioTechnology Institute at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Popovic received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at Clemson University and a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Ms Balent is on the staff of the EPA's Technology Innovation and Field Services Division where she has worked to collect and disseminate hazardous waste remediation and characterization information since 2003. Ms Balent manages the Clean Up Information Network website and actively supports online communication and collaboration resources available to EPA. She formerly worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Engineering Division in the Buffalo District. Ms Balent was also a member of the SUNY-Buffalo Groundwater Research Group where she constructed and tested large scale models of groundwater flow. Ms Balent has also conducted research relating to the Great Lakes, environmental remediation, and brownfields re-development. She holds a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from SUNY-Buffalo and a Master's degree in Information Technology from AIU.
Cindy Frickle, U.S. EPA Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (frickle.cynthia@epa.gov or 202-566-0927)
Cindy Frickle is a physical scientist with EPA's Superfund program where she reviews and propagates technical information to site cleanup professionals through Clu-In, EPA forums, and interagency channels. Prior to joining EPA, she spent time characterizing contaminated sites, coring sediments, studying microbes, and teaching. She completed her Biogeology MS and Geology BS in the University of Minnesota's School of Earth Sciences.
